Rare are the places where one feels such at home and so welcomed – Les Hauts Pâurages is one of them – and we are blessed to have spent an unforgettable weekend in this stunning ‘gîte’, spoilt by Susan and Doug’s hospitality. So much attention to detail, such a cosy place to stay, with a breathtaking view, the food was outstanding and better than any restaurant we tasted in the area. Susan and Doug took such good care of us and even took us on a walk in the hills, enabling us to admire the unique landscape of that area where nature thankfully still reigns. We will definitively come back and we very much look forward to it!’

We had an absolutely fantastic time at the house with a very warm welcome from Doug and Susan who put a huge amount of thought and care into our time with them. The interior is very comfortable, spacious and cosy (when we first arrived the weather was a bit fresh so Doug and Susan had put a fire on for us). The house is well equipped. The wood-burning stove heats the house comfortably. The kitchen is well kitted out. Bedrooms are quiet and dark as you can pull the blinds down. Wonderful views from the rooms too. The grounds and setting are really spectacular. When the weather warmed up the pool was open and a delight to swim in with views out to the mountains. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner outside and it was very relaxing. Dinner at table d'hote on arrival was delicious and I'd recommend it. Ossun-ez-Angles is a good base for walks and adventures on the higher peaks as well as more local walks from the house. We will never foret our stay with you. Thank you, Thank you!

Nous avons séjourné une semaine au haut pâturage, un gîte très jolie, un accueil très sympathique avec un très bon gâteau et une bouteille de vin à votre arrivée. (le gâteau était divin). La piscine est juste parfaite, un espace très grand avec plein d'attention pour les enfants (petits ou ados) Les propriétaires sont très gentils et très soucieux de notre bien être en restant très discrets. Nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances en famille. Merci c'est une adresse à conserver.

This location offered a beautiful setting and unique experience for our group of 6 young adults during our 3 night stay. Everything was perfect, from the quaint small village, breathtaking mountain views, and beautiful backyard, which I wish I would've had more time to explore had we stayed for longer! Susan and Doug were wonderful hosts, very responsive, and went above and beyond with so many thoughtful touches, such as the Nespresso coffee machine and coffee pods made available to us, and even a homemade cake and wine waiting for us on our arrival! Susan readily offered helpful suggestions of hiking routes, and offered plenty of maps and guides to help us as well. Our group also took advantage of the option for a table d'hote (4 course meal prepared by the hosts, offered for an additional fee) and it was absolutely worth it! For anyone on the fence, I'd highly recommend to go for it, as the food was perfection, locally sourced, flavorful, and definitely restaurant quality - not to mention of course that Susan and Doug were wonderful company. Overall an amazing stay and highly recommended! *****

We rented Susan and Doug’s property for 3 weeks during Christmas 2021. Seven adults and a toddler and everything was wonderful! The house was outfitted for our toddler so we felt safe letting him roam. The two halves of the house with in effect two apartments we’re great when we needed to retreat from each other a bit and both sides we’re large enough to hang out together. The property and surroundings are beautiful. A great space to go for walks. Susan is also a wonderful cook and Doug is a very entertaining host. Both have lived fascinating lives and it was lovely to chat to them! If you want to enjoy the winter sports, it’s about 45 minutes to the ski resorts and about 15 minutes to the nearest grocery in Bagneres de Bigorre.
